Sayings In The Gospel Books
Part III
- Do Not Sin Against The Holy Spirit.
28 "Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation" — 30 because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."
Mark 3:28-30
See Sins Against The Holy Spirit
- Not Only In Theory, But Also By Practice.
33 But He answered them, saying, "Who is My mother, or My brothers?" 34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother."
Mark 3:33-35
Everybody shall prove himself a friend or a foe. Whoever is on the Lord’s side shall prove it not by claims, but in practice.
- Heed The Teachings And Warnings.
9 And He said to them, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
Mark 4:9
If you are a child of God, you would delight to hear the words of God and to do them.
If you are wise, you should do the right things.
If the Holy Spirit is in you, understand this statement as true.
- Seek knowledge. Do not be pleased with mysteries.
11 And He said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that
'Seeing they may see and not perceive,
And hearing they may hear and not understand;
Lest they should turn,
And their sins be forgiven them.'"
Mark 4:11-12
If you are always talking of mystery or regarding the words and works of God as mystery, then you have not known the Truth. Strive to seek, find, know and practice the Truth. You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free. When you know the Truth, you shall know the right things to do. To know the Truth, observe quiet times and meditation, study of the scriptures and sacred texts with an open mind, and associate with the saints who know the Truth. Unfortunateley, those who know the Truth as it is are indeed rare.
- Use The Talents You Have.
24 Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 25 For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."
Mark 4:24-25
When you use your talents, you gain more talents and wealth. If you do not use the talent you have, you lose the talents and the gains you would have made from them. Those who hear the word of God grow spiritually by it, but those who reject the word are already dead.
- All Actions Are Performed By The Forces Of Nature.
26 And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."
Mark 4:26-29
For every success and achievement, give God the glory. This is because all actions are performed by the forces of nature, which forces are the intelligent powers of the Holy Spirit.
For example, you can eat food. But it is not you who produced the land, agriculture, food, or the means for processing the food. Again, when you eat, it is not you who produced the teeth for chewing, the tongue for taste, the throat for swallowing, the saliva for convenience, or the process of digestion. You only use these things which have been made available by God.
Give glory to God.
- Command Nature In The Name Of God.
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!"
Mark 4:39
Speak to the nature and it shall respond to you, when you do so without doubt. Command the elements of life, and they shall come to you saying, “Here we are. What do you want us to do?” Speak and command them in the glorious name of God, and they shall obey you. When you pray for the sick, command their body to become healthy. When you pray for the poor and wretched families, command good things of life to come to them. Ezekiel commanded dry and dead bones and they became full bodies, living human beings. Do likewise. Always start by saying, "In the name of God, I command ..."
- Fear Not.
40 But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"
Mark 4:40
Fear not, for there is nothing to be afraid of. God has no need of your fear, except the you do good and inherit the kingdom. Likewise, do not fear God, for fear is sin and man-made, and fear only breeds more fears. Instead, love God with all your heart and the Heavenly Hosts shall call you wise.
- Command The Evil Spirits.
8 For He said to him, "Come out of the man, unclean spirit!" 9 Then He asked him, "What is your name?"
Mark 5:8-9
Every righteousness man can command the evil spirits and they shall obey him. This is the Father’s providence and victory for His children.
- Testify.
19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, "Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you."
Mark 5:19-20
Testify of the good things God is doing in your life. Do not spend your time recounting your sins, woes or failures.
- Holiness Is Power.
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well."
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My clothes?"
Mark 5:25-30
Holiness is power. Everyday, streams of different kinds of energies flow about within the environment, even as every light source radiates light in all directions. Be as wise as a serpent by recognizing them and their effects, and be as innocent as a dove by avoiding them and by following the demands of the holiness.
- Honour The Prophets In Your Home Land.
4 But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house."
Mark 6:4-5
This is neither a blessing nor a commendation. Members of every household, and the town, should be the first to acknowledge a man of God in their midst. Otherwise, they stand themselves against the will of God. Already, this ugly development is what has been happening. Many ministers of God have been denied their birthright in property by their close relations. Many of them have been abandoned to suffer in this world. All these maltreatment shall serve as evidence against those who maltreat them on the Day of Judgment.
- Be Careful With The Preachers.
10 Also He said to them, "In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place. 11 And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!"
Mark 6:10-11
So it is.
- Observe Quiet Times.
Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.
Mark 6:30-32
Learn to observe quiet times, rest and relaxation. Even meditation. This is Sabbath and it is everlasting. For as you travel on the road in a vehicle, as you sail in a ship and as you fly in a plane, so is rest the means of going into the heavenly kingdoms. Rest, also called Sabbath, is so important that God commanded the Israelites to rest for at least one full day in a week, for their own spiritual growth and wellbeing. The same law applies to everybody, always.
- Feed The Flock.
37 But He answered and said to them, "You give them something to eat."
Mark 6:37
Delight to feed the people as often as you can. This is love and it is both good and glorious. This is more pleasing to God than many penances or cries for mercy.
- No One Is Ever Alone.
But immediately He talked with them and said to them, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
Mark 6:50
God is always with you. No one is ever alone. This is a great wisdom in life.
- Investigate Your Beliefs And Practices.
6 He answered and said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
'This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men — the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do."
Mark 7:6-8
It is dangerous to teach and practice man-made doctrines in place of God’s commandments. Unfortunately, many churches are doing so now, and they think they can go on doing so with impunity. Do not join them, for God does not change.
- Body And Spirit Co-Exist, But Do Not Mix.
14 When He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, "Hear Me, everyone, and understand: 15 There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. 16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!"
Mark 7:14-16
The body is different and separate from the spirit, just as the shoe is different and separate from the foot that wears it. The two only co-exist and do not mix.
Again, what comes from flesh is flesh, and what comes from spirit is spirit. If you are ready to learn the truth, man is spirit and not flesh.
17 When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. 18 So He said to them, "Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, 19 because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?" 20 And He said, "What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man."
Mark 7:17-23
- Humility
27 But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs."
Mark 7:27
Be humble, patient and steadfast. It is rare to find a true Saint, and if you find one, do not be in a haste to leave him. Be patient to learn so many things from him.
- Watch Your Words.
29 Then He said to her, "For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter."
Mark 7:29
Beware of whatever you say. For whatever you say either ennobles you or debases you. It will either save you or condemn you.
- Open!
34 Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened."
Mark 7:34
Open the gates of all churches and religions. Do not try to cage people in by holding them captives as mmebers. Let those outside move in and see the within, and let those inside move out and see the outside. When people come to you, welcome them. And when they leave you, bless them and hand them over to the Holy Spirit, who is everywhere and omniscient. For many ministers of God, out of fear of loosing their members, prevent people from going to places where they can learn the Truth about God and life. The same members shall return to you richer and wiser.
- Be Sincere.
11 Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him. 12 But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation."
Mark 8:11-12
If you seek a sign out of sincerity, God will provide it. It pleases Him that His children investigate whatever they hear or practice. Always verify. Consult God. It is your right to ask questions and to confirm whatever you hear or see. But for those who disbelieve God, more signs are not neccessary.
- Avoid Hypocrisy.
15 Then He charged them, saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."
Mark 8:14-15
Beware of hypocrites, false prophets and ignorant teachers. They have led multitudes to hell fire.
- Be Persistent.
22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.
24 And he looked up and said, "I see men like trees, walking."
25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. 26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, "Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town."
Mark 8:22-26
Repeat the solutions that you know to work.
Perform your duties as service offering to God. Do not do things simply for fame, popularity or praises.
- Stand On Your Own Feet.
27 Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, "Who do men say that I am?"
28 So they answered, "John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets."
29 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Mark 8:27-29
It is not enough to do or say something simply because others do or say so. You should be able to stand on your feet and say the truth.
- Do Not Hesitate To Rebuke The Satan.
33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
Mark 8:33
When you take decisions, do not fear what men would say or do. Instead make sure you are saying and doing what God wants, for God can deliver you from men, but no man can deliver you from God.
- Perform Selfless Services, Always.
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."
Mark 8:34-38
Unfortunately, majority forget these words of Truth and are busy everyday practicing hypocrisy.
- Use The Powers Of God In You.
Also He said to them, "Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?
Mark 4:21-22
It is unfortunate that children of God do not want to use the talents God has given them. They neglect the victorious powers of God in them by choosing to live a life of spiritual blindness (ignorance) and indolence (laziness).
- Heavenly Visit Is Possible.
1 And He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power."
Mark 9:1
I tell you the Truth, I have visited and experienced the kingdom of heaven several times. The gate of heaven has been open since the foundation of the world. It is man who has refused to enter the kingdom for four reasons. One, he does not know how to enter. Two, he is busy lusting after the things of the world. Three, for lack of good teachers who are spiritually awake, enlightened and experienced. And four, for lack of faith in the form of earnest efforts.
- Reincarnation Is True.
11 And they asked Him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
12 Then He answered and told them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt? 13 But I say to you that Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him."
Mark 9:11-13
The world is God's own school. You enter the school by birth, leave it at death and come back to it through reincarnation. John the Baptist was Elijah reincarnated.
- Meaning Of Faith
19 He answered him and said, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me."
Mark 9:19
Faith is the knowledge of the Truth, and abiding by the Truth. It is the acceptance of the Truth. Many are impatient to abide in the Truth. They want their desires fulfilled immediately, instead of patiently waiting for God’s time and blessings.
For you to perform miracles, you should know the things you suppose to know and do the right thing to get the right result.
- Investigate Cases.
21 So He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?"
Mark 9:21
Do not just rush into healing people. Investigate their cases.
- All Good Things Are Possible.
23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
Mark 9:23
As simple as that. If you want God to perform wonders through you, you must first devote time to stay with God alone in worship, in prayers, in quietness and in meditation. A charcoal can only become red-hot by staying inside the fire.
- First Bind The Evil Spirit.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!" 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
Mark 9:25-27
The evil spirits revolt most when you want to cast them out. Therefore, first bind them, before you start to cast them out. Command them and they shall go, for light and darkness do not stay together. One of them must leave. Darkness abounds when light is not present. The moment light appears, darkness flees away (vanishes).
- Fast When Necessary.
28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why could we not cast it out?"
29 So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting."
Mark 9:28-29
Fasting is good, but not to observed everyday. Instead, pray for directives from the Holy Spirit. Do not just do things simply because you can do it, for God’s ways are different from man’s way, and His thoughts are different from man’s thoughts.
- Avoid Hypocrisy.
31 For He taught His disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day."
Mark 9:31-32
Jesus was betrayed once, and that one act cost heaven so much. Now, instead of learning a lesson from the betrayal, the world is everyday practicing hypocrisy, betraying one another in different ways. Some call it diplomacy, shepherd crook, number six, politics, gossiping, backbiting, pretense, church politics or family politics. Evil is evil. Beware!
- The Key To Greatness Is Service To Others.
33 Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, "What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?" 34 But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest. 35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."
Mark 9:33-36
Greatness is in serving others. Of what benefit is greatness when people do not benefit from it or when it is always making people to suffer untold hardship. The key to greatness is service to others. It is divine command, and it is good.
- Do Not Dishonour Even The Least Minister.
36 Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, 37 "Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me."
Mark 9:36-37
This is the simple fact. Do not neglect any true minister of God, for God is in and also with whoever that works in His name.
- God Forbids Sectarianism
38 Now John answered Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us."
39 But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. 40 For he who is not against us is on our side. 41 For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
Mark 9:38-41
Here is a simple lesson which churches and religious leaders have refused to learn.
- Tasteless Salt Is Worthless.
49 "For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. 50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another."
Mark 9:49-10:1
When the fallen Angels decided to do evil, they lost the salt in them, the Holy Spirit. Thenceforth, their works are evil, and there is no good in them or from them. Learn from this, and do not join them lest you lose your salt and become worthless. Turn away from the ways of the Devil, the worldly ways.
- Marriage and Divorce
1 Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again.
2 The Pharisees came and asked Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" testing Him.
3 And He answered and said to them, "What did Moses command you?"
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her."
5 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God 'made them male and female.' 7'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."
10 In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter. 11 So He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."
Mark 10:1-13
Divorce is unnecessary. It is better to mend a tear than to have many more tears. It is better to correct one wrong than to have so many more wrongs.
- Jesus Blesses Little Children
13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.
Mark 10:13-16
Learn the ways of the children and you will definitely enter the kingdom of heaven. Children forgive easily. They do not spend their time worrying about so many things.
- Only God Is Righteous.
17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?"
18 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.
Mark 10:17-19
Only God is righteous, for it is only God who has the Holy Spirit, which is the spirit of Truth, the spirit of righteousness and the spirit of holiness. None can be righteous without the Holy Spirit.
- Renunciation
20 And he answered and said to Him, "Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth."
21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."
22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
Mark 10:20-22
Renunciation is the highest form of service and the greatest form of devotion. Perform your duties without expecting rewards, thanks, praise, persuasion or force. Perform all duties as service offering rendered to the Almighty.
- It Is Both Hard And Easy For The Rich To Enter The Kingdom.
23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!" 24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Mark 10:23-25
With God all things are possible. The wealth of a rich man sets his heart after his money and riches. He is always thinking about his wealth and he depends on it for everything he needs. He fails to depend on God. His life and honour are so based on the wealth, that, his wealth becomes a god in place of God Almighty.
When heavens want a rich man to return to the kingdom, they stripe of him of all his wealth. Then he remembers God, turns to God and depends on God for his sustenance. Only then he becomes qualified to enter the kingdom. That was why Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:27
For money and wealth do not last, but God is everlasting and He is able to provide all things. Blessed is he who receives the blessings with gratitude.
- Your Rewards Shall Be Great.
28 Then Peter began to say to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You."
29 So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life.
Mark 10:28-30
Perform God’s work as your own work, because you benefit from it, even abundantly.
